I work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the laboratory of Entomology and Agricultural Zoology, Department of Agriculture Crop Production and Rural Environment, University of Thessaly, Greece since 2014. I have a longstanding interest in the chemical ecology of Tephritid fruit flies with emphasis on the effects of host plant compounds on their reproductive (mating and oviposition) behavior and other life history traits.
During the course of my Postdoctoral carrier I have participated in a series of Research programs dealing with the management of fruit flies with the implementation of precision agriculture practices as well as the mass trapping method with the use of innovative and environmental friendly attractants (Biodelear). Also, I am currently conducting a series of studies regarding pesticide efficacy, overwintering biology and seasonal longevity of mosquito populations.
